“Thick Layer of Pollutants Veil Hanging at the Horizon”
Atmospheric Haze
This is the stunning view of Butwal seen from Nuwakot.
This scene captures the both concrete and natural jungle of Butwal.
There are a lot of stories have been submitted regarding such view.
But when I clicked this picture and observed closely, I found something unusual and strange.
The thick layer of haze at the horizon of Butwal city attracted me.
The thick and dense layer of pollutants consisting of dust, smoke, industrial emissions, vehicles' emission, agricultural burns has created a strong shield over Butwal.
When I researched about it I found that this type of shield or veil is known as atmospheric haze.
The atmospheric haze, is a layer of air pollutants which covers the planetary boundary layer, the lowest part of the Earth's atmosphere.
This is very thick and dense layer which cause low visibility as they remaining part of Butwal is not seen in the picture.
As the AQI of Butwal remains higher than 155 at day time, such pollutants compound the air pollutants altogether and create a dense layer which is capable of blocking of the sunlight as well.
This dense veil is evident that how dangerous the air have become.
This haze cause severe health issues like, irritations in eyes, nose, throat, other respiratory issues, increased risks of heart attacks, decreased lung function, and even premature death.
This dense layer which could be roughly 50 - 100 meters high blocks the sunlight and cause sun rises at mid sky.
This is harmful for humans and wildlife both.
This strange phenomenon is evident that we have destroyed the air and nature.
We are sorry mother nature.
