Development Vs Pollution
The Tribhuvan International Airport expansion and upgradation project is a long-term, multi-phase master plan.
While major and complex runway and taxiway works have been completed, the remaining infrastructure upgrades—such as the eastern hangar aprons and terminal expansions—are expected to continue until late 2026. While the nation moves towards development, pollution is often ignored.
Mud and construction materials have been left exposed for years.
Every day, people living in the Gothatar area have to suffer from severe dust and air pollution.
Brown dust covers the houses of residents throughout Gothatar. Should we celebrate development, or should we be concerned about the massive pollution we breathe every day?
