Kathmandu's Toxic Traffic
Daily life of the commuters and roadside workers of Kathmandu is made worse due to a stifling environment.
Every morning while going to workplace or school becomes hazardous because of dense clouds of black smoke engulfing them. While driving toxic fumes directly into the streets from such vehicles becomes a serious health risk factor, there is no doubt that for policemen controlling the traffic, bikers caught in it, and pedestrians walking through this smoky cloud, it leads to irritation in their eyes, coughing, and serious illnesses. Access to clean air cannot be restricted only to those who travel in an air-conditioned car with all closed windows.
It is the basic right of every individual who travels through the roads and streets.
