Green hills and smokey air

Patan, Lalitpur, Kathmandu ValleyJun 2026

Smoke in clean environment

This photograph captures a beautiful rural landscape with green terraced field.

The environment appears peaceful, fresh, and naturally clean.

The greenery, trees, and open sky create a healthy atmosphere that reflects the beauty of nature.

However, the smoke rising from the fire can negatively affect air quality.

Burning agricultural waste, dry grass, or other materials releases pollutants into the atmosphere.

These pollutants can spread through the air and reduce the freshness of the environment. The smoke may cause breathing difficulties, especially for children, older adults, and people with respiratory conditions such as asthma.

Prolonged exposure can irritate the eyes, nose, and throat.

It may also trigger allergies and other health problems among nearby residents.

Even a small amount of smoke can have harmful effects when it occurs repeatedly. This image reminds us that protecting a clean environment requires responsible actions.

By avoiding open burning and adopting environmentally friendly practices, communities can preserve the natural beauty of their surroundings while ensuring healthier air for everyone to breathe.
