“Pollution in Nepal”
The air over the Gen Z protests
This was Kathmandu during the Gen Z protests in Nepal.
During the protests, over 500 government buildings and hundreds of commercial and private structures were damaged or burned.
People all over Kathmandu came out onto the streets, and fires could be seen across different parts of the city.
I was standing on my terrace looking around when I saw this view.
It was truly heartbreaking to witness buildings burning and the air becoming more polluted every second. I cannot imagine the amount of polluted air the people of Nepal had to breathe that day.
Kathmandu is still recovering from the pollution and trauma caused by those events.
