“We throw garbage away, forgetting there is no “away.””
The City of Waste
I took this photo on a roadside where piles of unmanaged waste had become part of everyday life.
People walked past it, vehicles moved beside it, and the smell mixed silently with the dust and air around us.
What disturbed me most was not just the garbage itself, but how normal it had become. Plastic wrappers, food waste, and disposable items lay exposed under the open sky, slowly polluting the soil, air, and nearby environment.
During hot days, the waste releases toxic odors, and during rain, it spreads into drains and streets.
Many people nearby continue breathing this polluted air daily without realizing its long-term impact on health and nature. This memory matters because pollution is not always smoke from factories or vehicles.
Sometimes it is the waste we ignore every day.
This scene reflects how human carelessness slowly turns public spaces into environmental hazards.
Clean surroundings are not just about beauty, they are about dignity, health, and responsibility.
